Mawwiage is what bwings us togevr today
I love the movie Princess Bride. My husband showed me this movie at the library 2 hours before a final exam way back in college. He knew just how to show a girl a good time- and most importantly distract me so I could do well on the test. He's the best! Then later on when I learned about the roles of husband and wife in marriage during a wonderful seminar at my old church- they played a clip of that movie~ when she's almost to marry the bad guy & the marriage official said the line above- & I can't help but flashback to the most romantic date ever. A library headphone wearing movie date. Oh yeah.
Now, I'm not a wedding photographer nor do I play one on TV, however I was invited to take part in a very special family photo session that happened to have an outdoor wedding taking place. SO.. this note is not so much to ask you to invite me to a wedding to take pictures because you need to hire somebody who specializes in weddings! However I want to bring a little wedding cheer & marriage celebration to your heart.

I lift my eyes unto the hills
I just returned from a trip to the desert where I camped beside a mountain. My absolute favorite forms of expression are music and pictures. As I looked up at this sliver moon and watched the sun go down below it, all my heart could sing was the chorus to this song by Casting Crowns. Where does my help come from, my help comes from the Lord.
Later in the weekend, the fierce wind came, pretty much knocking down my whole campsite. And as I gathered our belongings and heaved them into the truck~ I paused on my knees and braced for the huge gale force wind that was coming and my heart recalled that God passed by many of his saints in the wind. So I listened and my heart remembered:
1 Kings 19:11-13 says, "And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; [but] the LORD [was] not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; [but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was [so], when Elijah heard [it], that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, [there came] a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?"

Operation Love
Did I tell you my husband is my hero? And is is obvious that two little boys adore him too? Recently at school my older son wrote in his little boy handwriting when asked what he loves to do now that he might like to be when he grows up, "I like to help people and keep them safe. Marines Do that. You can be one too." I'm so thankful for this man.
